Hi!

Hi, I’m Jen—a proud mom of two energetic kids, one lovable pup, and a supportive husband who keeps our family grounded. I’ve been navigating the rewarding and ever-evolving world of special education since 2012. Armed with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Special Education (preK-8), I’ve dedicated my career to empowering students and supporting fellow educators.
Whether I’m teaching, mentoring, or sharing resources through my blog, I’m passionate about creating meaningful connections and making learning accessible for every child. When I’m not working, you’ll find me soaking up family time, brainstorming fresh ideas for my Teachers Pay Teachers store, or chasing after my four-legged “assistant.”

Think of it as a little classroom tip jar that helps me keep writing helpful content—and maybe buy an extra coffee to survive those grading marathons. Thanks for your support!--

My Journey and Why I’m Committed to Special Education Coaching

I’ve been in the world of education for over a decade, and through all the changes, one thing has remained constant: special education teachers are some of the most dedicated yet underserved professionals in our field. I’ve walked in those shoes—juggling countless IEPs, managing paraprofessionals, modifying curriculum, collecting data, and striving to meet every student’s unique needs. Yet, amid all this hard work, I’ve watched as content-specific teachers receive more resources, training, and support while special education often remains an afterthought.

This gap in support has always struck me as unfair. Special education teachers deserve more than just acknowledgment for their hard work—they need actionable help. They need practical solutions that work in real classrooms, strategies that save time and reduce stress, and a community that understands their unique challenges. This realization became my driving force, and it’s why I decided to launch my special education coaching program.

I believe special education teachers deserve a productive space to grow, collaborate, and receive targeted support. Not just generic professional development, but real, actionable guidance tailored to their needs. We are asked to be masters of differentiation, behavior management experts, legal documentation specialists, and compassionate educators all at once. Yet, the training to achieve this level of mastery is often fragmented or nonexistent. It’s time to change that narrative.

My journey isn’t just about experience—it’s about passion and purpose. I’ve not only taught but also designed curriculum adaptations, led mentor programs, and facilitated workshops aimed at empowering educators. My background in instructional design and years of hands-on experience have equipped me to break down complex concepts into manageable, practical strategies. I’ve seen firsthand how effective coaching can transform a teacher’s confidence and impact student outcomes, and I want to bring that power to the special education community.

My coaching program isn’t just about teaching strategies or compliance with legal requirements—although we certainly cover that. It’s about creating a supportive, collaborative space where special education teachers can thrive. It’s about equipping you with tools that save time, reduce burnout, and enhance student learning. It’s about providing a place to ask questions without judgment and receive guidance that’s actionable and relevant.

I’m not just here to coach; I’m here to advocate, empower, and elevate the incredible work that special education teachers do every day. If you’re ready to transform your teaching experience and create a more manageable, effective classroom environment, then I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we can bridge the gap, break down barriers, and build a community where special education is finally given the attention and support it deserves.
